Accomplishments to Celebrate

At the end of this year, let’s celebrate some of mankind’s accomplishments. We chose to attack some salient global health issues, and we can now legitimately say that we can look forward to the end of HIV/AIDS, and that we can end mother-to-child transmission of HIV/AIDS within a few years. We’ve reduced death by malaria to an extraordinary extent.

Events in Burma leave us with hopefulness for that country’s future and better quality of life for its inhabitants. NASA is exploring Mars and sending us pictures. And extraordinary people, such as Bunker Roy, are increasing the productivity of grandmothers in Africa while electrifying villages.

The Good Times are here. Here’s wishing you a healthy, prosperous and happy 2013.
