HeartLittle is known about the saint who died as a martyr on February 14. But the feast of St. Valentine, celebrated on that date, was established in 496 by Pope Gelasius I, who included Valentine among all those “… whose names are justly reverenced among men, but whose acts are known only to God”. Valentine’s Day was already mentioned as a day to celebrate romantic love during the time of the poet Geoffrey Chaucer, who lived from 1343 to 1400. Happy Valentine’s!cupid
